Ontario Ministry of Labour, Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training
As of July 1, 2014, the Ontario Ministry of Labour introduced new occupational health and safety awareness training. This is mandatory training for all workers in Ontario and their supervisors. A worker is defined as a person who performs work or supplies services for monetary compensation and a supervisor is defined as a person who has authority or charge over the worker.
For curling clubs/centres, this means all paid staff members must complete the training -- ice teams, bar staff, administrative staff, supervisors -- as well as the person charged with supervising their work, etc.
