The OVCA can help your member club or centre financially, whether through team funding assistance, or through capital loans at very competitive rates.  See what the OVCA can offer your club!

For more information on these programs, please consult the specific policies.

Clubs may apply for loans up to $30,000 at a rate of Royal Bank prime minus 1%. The OVCA Board of Administrators is the manager of this fund. Approximately $1.2 million has been loaned under this program. Currently, nine of the 45 member clubs have loans in place - and since the initiation of the fund, all but six of the OVCA member clubs have utilized these loans.

Web Hosting

The OVCA offers free web hosting services to its member clubs and centres. Many OVCA clubs have taken advantage of this service which is a great way to connect with your members and provide information to potential curlers.

Adult Learn to Curl Program Support

The OVCA will provide financial support ($500) for OVCA clubs towards the development of adult Learn- to-Curl programs over the next two years, beginning with the 2014-15 season. In addition to the financial support, the OVCA in partnership with the Canadian Curling Association will offer a one-day Instructor Training in early September for clubs hosting Learn-to-Curl programs. Competition of the course is a prerequisite for the funding.

Adult Team Recognition for Participating in National/Competitions

The Ottawa Valley Curling Association (OVCA) will recognize the achievements of adult teams who represent Ontario at national competitions sanctioned by Curling Canada (as defined in the policy).  The team must be an active member of an OVCA member club, and the application is to be made by the club.

Event Hosting Support

The Ottawa Valley Curling Association (OVCA) will provide sponsorship funds to OVCA member clubs hosting provincial final competitions and national competitions up to a maximum of $1,000 providing the competition is either the penultimate step (at a provincial level) to a national sanctioned Curling Canada event or is the final step - a Curling Canada-national sanctioned event.

Little Rocks Purchasing Program

Limited funds are available to assist member clubs to purchase youth rocks (new or replacement).

Youth Travel and Grants

The OVCA will assist OVCA-member club based youth travel teams with travel costs at a rate of $.20/km for OCA and OUA competitions, and with grants for those advancing to select national competitions
